–

ISSA Hayatou, president of the Confederation of African Football, CAF, has been named as acting president of the FIFA after Sepp Blatter, current president was suspended and “stripped of all duties” for 90 days.

Hayatou, 69, took temporary charge on Thursday, October 8, the world football body said.

The CAF president’s fortune is made possible in his capacity as senior vice president of FIFA. He has in the past been reprimanded for misconduct by the International Olympic Committee.

“Joseph S. Blatter was relieved of all his duties as FIFA president” after the move by the FIFA ethics committee to suspend him for 90 days because he is under criminal investigation by Swiss prosecutors,” the FIFA said.
