A Sharia court ll sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna, on Tuesday ordered one Aminu Mukhtar to pay N12,000 feeding allowance for his four-year-old child.

The defendant, who resides at Rigasa area of Kaduna, had his marriage to his wife, Hauwa Ismail, dissolved by the court on Jan. 31, 2018.

The court had ordered him to be paying a monthly feeding allowance of N4,000 to the child’s mother.

But on Tuesday, the judge, Malam Murtala Nasir, ordered Mukhtar  to pay N12,000 to Hauwa following her petition over his failure to provide their child’s feeding allowance for three months.

“You were supposed to be paying N4,000 monthly allowance for your child’s feeding but you failed to do so since May.

“Therefore, you must pay the sum total of N12,000 for the month of May, June and July on or before July 31”, the judge ruled.

The court had refused the defendant’s plea for an extended time within which to meet the order.

Earlier, the defendant, who resides at Rigasa area of Kaduna, had pleaded with the court for extension of time to meet with the court’s judgment, which was turned down.(NAN)
