Man docked for alleged N147, 000 flight tickets fraud

The Police on Thursday arraigned a 38-year-old man, Saburi Momoh, in a Kubwa Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, over alleged N147, 000 flight tickets fraud.

 

The defendant of Byazhin Across, Kubwa, Abuja, was docked on a charge of cheating, an offence he pleaded not guilty to.

 

The prosecutor, Babajide Olanipekun, told the court that the defendant fraudulently deceived one Nnamdi Prince to give him N147, 000 on Dec. 2.

 

He said the defendant was to facilitate getting flight tickets for Prince and his friends, for a trip to Owerri, but the defendant converted the said money to his personal use.

 

Olanipekun said the offence contravened Section 312 of the Penal Code.

 

The defence counsel, Mboh Ufere, urged the court to grant bail to his client assuring that a reliable surety would be provide if bail is granted.

 

The judge, Abdulwahab Mohammed, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100, 000, with one surety in like sum and adjourned the matter until Aug. 15 for hearing. (NAN).
