Obiano urges Legal Luminaries to avert Irregularities in Pursuit of justice

GOVERNOR Willie Obiano has urged those in the legal profession to stave off irregularities in order to ensure effective dispensing of justice.

Obiano made the plea during Valedictory Court Session in honour of late O. J. Nnadi, SAN at the High Court, Onitsha.

Nnadi, 58, was member of Gov. Obiano legal team, died on December 30, 2017, at Onitsha.

The governor urged them to uphold the dignity of law profession and redesign it to meet its principle as “the last hope of the commonman’’.

Describing late Nnadi as a great SAN, who made his mark in the profession, Obiano urged the family to take solace in God, as their father lived a fulfilled life.

The Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, while commending Gov. Obiano for his many achievements in the state, said his encounter with Nnadi was helped the transformation of his life.

Virgy Etiaba, former governor of Anambra State, recalled that Nnadi fought for restoration of justice in Anambra governance, which offered opportunity to Peter Obi to regain his “stolen mandate’’.

Anali Chude, attorney-general and commissioner for Justice, Anambra State,  described Nnadi as a brilliant lawyer, who always pleaded for justice in line with stipulated rules.

The session attracted various personalities in legal profession and top government officials from within and outside the state.

A native of Uhuala Village, Obibi Ochashi in Orlu LGA, Imo State late Nnadi was called to Bar in 1986.

He was admitted into the Inner Bar in 2010. He was renowned for his exploits in election petition matters.
