Plumber in court for allegedly stealing 75 pieces of PVC pipes

A 26-year-old plumber, Paul Aduma, who allegedly stole 75 pieces of PVC plumbing pipes valued at N150,000 belonging to employer on Wednesday appeared in a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court.

The police, charged Aduma, whose address was not provided on two counts of conspiracy and theft. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, ASP Fidelis Dike told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Jan. 16, around 4.15 a.m. at Road I, Bakery Busstop, Badore, Ajah Lagos.

He alleged that the defendant conspired with two other labourers (at large) and stole 75 pieces of PVC pipes from a building site.

He added that Aduma and his accomplices stole the pipes valued at N150,000, belonging to their employer, Mr Sunday Nwazor.

The offence, he said contravened the provisions of sections 287 (7) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The News Agency  of Nigeria (NAN) if convicted, he is liable to two years  imprisonment.

Magistrate T. A. Anjorin-Ajose, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N50,000l with two sureties in like sum.

Anjorin-Ajose ordered that the sureties must be responsible and credible. The magistrate adjourned the case until March 18, for hearing. (NAN)
