Trader docked for allegedly biting woman

The police on Tuesday arraigned a  trader, Folashade Iwalokun,  in an Okitipupa Chief Magistrates’ Court, Ondo  for  allegedly biting and punching one Ope Omotehinde in the back.

Iwalokun, 22, whose address was not provided is charged with two counts of assault and malicious damage.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Ayodeji Omoyeigha told the court that the defendant on March 4,  at the Round About area in Okitipupa, beat up Omotehinde and also bite her on her back during an argument.

Omoyeigha said that the defendant also snatched a Tecno cell phone from the complainant.

He said that the offence is punishable under sections 355 and 451, Criminal Code, Cap.37, Vol.1, Laws of Ondo State 2006.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge leveled against her.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Dickson Ogunfuyi, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100, 000 with a surety in like sum with evidence of a year tax clearance paid to the state government.

He adjourned the case until May 2 for further hearing. (NAN)
