THE police on Wednesday arraigned two friends, Yusuf Idris and Musa Ibrahim, in a Wuse Zone Six Chief Magistrates’ Court, Abuja, for allegedly being in possession of a stolen cell phone.

Idris and Ibrahim of no fixed address, are charged with two counts of Joint act and theft.

They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecution counsel, Peter Ejike, told the court that the matter was reported at the Wuse Zone Three Police Station, Abuja, by the complainant, Alex Ikemini, DSS Headquarters on June 13.

Ejike alleged that the defendants were arrested at about 12. 58 p.m in Wuse Zone 4, with a Techno phone, suspected to be stolen.

The prosecutor said that both defendants could not give a satisfactory explanation, as to the claims that they found the phone on the ground.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 79 and 287 of the Penal Code.

Magistrate Aminu Eri admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N50, 000, each, with two sureties each in like sum. Eri adjourned the case until July 30, for hearing. (NAN)
