THE member of Kebbi State House of Assembly representing Jega Constituency, Faruk Aliyu Nasarawa, has declared that qualitative empowerment of the masses is far better than indulgences given to the people for gratification purposes.
Faruk said this during the empowerment programme organized for the people of his constituency.
Faruk said that he was motivated to empower his people by his desire to cushion the effects of the current economic hardship on them. He said in addition to the Empowerment programme, some schools were also renovated in different locations In his Constituency as part of his constituency projects.
“It is my covenant to ably represent and do resoundingly well for my constituents through the intervention/constituency projects’ platform provided us by the Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, as representatives of the people, who know the spots where the shoes pinch the masses,” he said.
The lawmaker noted that the empowerment programme is just one of the welfare packages, which he has lined up for the people as he promised to continue to make life more meaningful for his constituents.
The Items distributed by the legislature include 40 deep-freezers, 40 motorcycles, 50 grinding-machines, 50 swing-machines and 30 cows. Others are 30 tricycles for physically challenged people, 30 shoes as well as uniforms for 1000 primary school pupils, uniforms for the vigilante group and other religious aids groups.
The lawmaker presented two cars and cash to the party officials of his constituency, both local government and ward level and assured the people that more dividends of democracy would be delivered to them.
The Empowerment items were commissioned and presented to the beneficiaries by the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Samaila Kamba and Alhaji Ibrahim Bagudu, Sarkin Jega Alhaji Arzika Bawa Jega and Alhaji Faruk Kuru.
The Deputy Speaker Muhammad Buhari Aleiro Hassan Namaroko Birnin Kebbi Constituency Nasiru Danumma Argungu Constituency Danfari Suru Constituency, Abubakar Maye Koko Constituency Umaru U.U Maiyama Constituency were also present at the ceremony.
