THE Kwara government has reaffirmed its dedication to enhancing the energy sector in the state whilst also promoting renewable energy to bolster the security of life and property.

Kwara Commissioner for Energy, Mr AbdulAzeez AbdulGaniy, gave the assurance on Monday during the fourth-quarter Inter-Ministerial news conference in Ilorin.

AbdulGaniy noted that more communities now have access to improved power supply facilities, including the provision and installation of transformers and other electrical materials.

According to him, some of the communities that have benefited from this initiative include Tepatan Oke, Gata Community, and Magaji Fate Community in Ilorin.

“These efforts are aimed at improving the living standard of people and boosting economic development across the state.

“The development has had a positive impact on several businesses and industries, enabling them to thrive.

“The government has procured and installed transformers in Lola Surulere, Akerebiata, and Alafia Tayo communities behind Olam Farm, Ogbondoroko,” he said.

The Commissioner also highlighted the installation of solar panels, inverters, and batteries at the Ilu Ofiada community, Asa Local Government Area, as well as the installation of hybrid solar inverters for two Federal High Court Judges’ Quarters in Ilorin.

“Others include: procurement and installation of prepaid meter for Kwara State Council for Arts and Culture, Ilorin.

“There is also relocation of overhead line in front of Government House and installation of already allocated 500KVA transformer at Reke Community,” he said.

AbdulGaniy commended the governor on the intervention, stating that the sole aim of the administration was to create a meaningful livelihood and sustainable environment for residents in the state. (NAN)
