THE Kwara Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA), says it has dragged two commercial tricycle operators to court for assaulting some personnel of the authority while on official duty.

Alhaji AbdulYekeen Bello, the Chief Executive Officer of the authority, disclosed this in Ilorin on Monday during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

According to the KWARTMA boss, the two commercial tricycle operators were among those plying Ganmo-Amoyo-Offa Garage-Post Office routes in Ilorin metropolis.

Bello alleged that the two commercial tricycle operators attacked some personnel of the authority during official duty.

He gave the names of the tricycle operators as Okiki Ahmed and Williams Tosin.

According to him, they were arrested by the Anti-Kidnapping Squad (AKS), of the Police Command in the state for obstructing KWARTMA staff enforcing the `No Parking’ order of the state government.

Bello expressed his displeasure at the incident and warned that the state government’s directives on No Parking on major roads should be followed. (NAN)
