Kwara United beat ABS FC to clinch state’s FA Cup

KWARA United Football Club of Ilorin on Wednesday emerged winners of the 2023 edition of the Kwara State FA Cup competition.

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side defeated lower league side ABS FC of Ilorin 4-2 on penalty kicks to win the trophy after the final match.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that both teams played out a goalless draw in regulation period of the match held at the Kwara Football Academy ground.

Earlier in the day, Kwara Ladies United edged Moje Queens 2-1 to win the female version of the State FA Cup.

NAN reports that both finalists in each of the male and female competitions will represent Kwara in the national Federation Cup.(NAN)
