Lagos: INEC to receive another batch of omitted PVCs Sunday

LAGOS- The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lagos State says another batch of omitted Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) is expected to arrive the state on Sunday and these shall be moved to the 20 Local Government Offices of the commission on Monday.

INEC, in a statement on Saturday evening in Lagos by Mrs Adenike Tadese, Head of Department, Voter Education and Publicity, informed the residents that the commission had announced extension of deadline for the collection of PVCS from Jan 29 to Feb.5.

“Sequel to the outcome of the commission’s meeting held today Saturday 28th January, 2023, the Independent National Electoral Commission, Lagos State wishes to notify the good residents of the state that collection of Permanent Voter Cards has been extended by a week from 29th January to 5th February, 2023.

“In the same vein, the General Public is hereby informed that another batch of omitted PVCs is expected to arrive the state tomorrow, Sunday 29th January, 2023 and these shall be moved to the LGAs by Monday 30th January, 2023.

“All registrants who.have not collected their cards should visit INEC Local Government Area Offices for collection between 8.00a. and 5.00pm daily.

“The commission also wishes to re-assure all eligible registrants of her resolution that no registered voter shall be deliberately disenfranchised in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

“Your vote is your power, ensure you collect your PVCs,” Tadese said.
Shadanpamarepoters reports that INEC has fixed Feb. 25 for the Presidential and National Assembly Elections and March 11 for the Governorship and House of Assembly elections.
