THE management of Lagos State University (LASU) has applauded the appointment of nine alumni of the institution as judges of the Lagos High Court.

Vice Chancellor of LASU, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, said in a statement in Lagos on Monday that the appointment of the nine, who studied Law in the university, was no mean feat.

“The nine were part of the 13 judges recently appointed into the Lagos State High Court, a feat made more remarkable by the fact that the number is the highest ever recorded.

“The alumni are: Hon Justices Sunmonu Bashiru, Alebiosu Lawal, Anjorin-Ajose Abdulwaheed, Muyodeen  Tejumade,George  Akingbola.

“Others are; Balogun Ganiu, Hon. Badejo-Okusanya Jokotola, Ojuromi Oluwatosin and Adewale Musiliu,” she said.

The LASU Vice-Chancellor said that an appointment into such an exalted position was a testament of their hard work, sacrifice and dedication to the noble profession of Law.

She said it also reflected their impactful contributions to the Lagos State judiciary.

“I can ascribe the feat of the judges to, amongst other things, the solid foundation of excellence at the Faculty of Law of the university,” she said.

Olatunji-Bello said that the appointees had  built their respective careers on the solid foundation.

She urged them to be above board and serve with the fear of God in their new positions.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 10 graduates of the Faculty of Law also recently bagged first class degrees at the Nigerian Law School final Bar Examinations in February. (NAN)
