A Member of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Ahmed Kalambaina (APC-Sokoto), has donated 3,000 bags of assorted fertilisers, 400 irrigation pumps, and 250 tube wells to the 305 polling units of his constituency.
Kalambaina, who represents Kware/Wamakko Federal Constituency, gave out the farm implements and inputs in a brief ceremony in the state.
Explaining reasons for the gesture, the lawmaker said that since his election, he had been doing lots of things for his people without making it ceremonial for record purposes.
“I have also attracted projects worth over N500 million in my constituency within the last three years.”
He assured that his next project would concentrate more on women and the girl child across the constituents and promised to fulfill all his campaign promises.
Inaugurating the distribution Sen. Aliyu Wamakko (APC-Sokoto), appealed to all elected representatives in the state and the Country to always keep in touch with those that elected them.
Wamakko, who is the Chairman Senate Committee on Defence, stressed that effective representation entailed “been there for your people.”
He thanked the lawmaker for the donation and called on the beneficiaries to utilise the items given to them to support their living standard and that of the society.
Speaking earlier, the state APC Chairman, Alhaji Sadiq Achida urged other elected representatives in the state to emulate the gesture by Kalambaina.
According to him, Kalambaina is following the footsteps of the state party leader, Sen. Wamakko whose political accommodation and acceptability is unparalleled.(NAN)
