Lawmaker donates N4m to 400 less privileged persons in constituency

NASARAWA State Assemblyman, Mr Daniel Ogazi,  representing Kokona East Constituency, has donated N4 million to 400 widows and others  in the constituency.

Ogazi, the Deputy Majority Leader of the House, made the donation in Garaku, Kokona Local Government Area of the state on Thursday.

He said the aim was to improve the standard of living of the women and their family members in his constituency.

Ogazi was represented at the occasion by the Majority Leader, Kokona Local Government Legislative Council and Director General, Daniel Ogazi Campaign Organization, Mr Affiku Kuje.

He said that the donation, N10, 000 per woman, was part of his annual empowerment programme and called on the women to ensure proper utilisation of the fund.

“I urge the women to use the money to start a small business in order to become self-reliant.”

Ogazi reassured his constituency of continuous purposeful leadership and support to the state government’s policies and programmes to succeed.

The Speaker of Kokona Legislative Council, Mr Akuki Philip, and a Special Assistant to Gov. Abdullahi Sule, Manasseh Nidan, advised the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money.

Some of the beneficiaries Saudatu Hassan and Sa’adatu Bala, thanked the lawmaker for the kind gesture and prayed God to reward him abundantly. (NAN)
