Maja Umeh commends Governor Willie Obiano

Maja Umeh, former commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism and APGA Chieftain, has commended Governor Willie Obiano for his efforts at boosting the Personnel, Services, Infrastructure and medical equipments at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital (COOUTH) Amaku Awka.

Umeh stated that he was impressed by the facilities and staff dedication to duty while he was hospitalized at the facility. He also paid Special tribute to the Honourable Commissioner For Health Dr. Vincent Ogochukwu Okpala, whom he described as a ‘silent goal getter’

He was speaking when Obiano paid him a visit at his Awka residence.

Also, the APGA chieftain described Basil Nwankwo, chief medical director, CMD, of the hospital as an ‘uncommon transformer’. He showered praises at the management and staff of the hospital referring to them as wonderful people.

In his response, the governor said he came on a personal visit to felicitate with him over his recent ailment and thanked God for his life , assuring that he will commission more facilities at the hospital soon as part of his efforts to bringing the hospital to International standard.

Governor Obiano commended Umeh whom he addressed as a mega APGA stakeholder for his dedication, loyalty, faith and steadfastness to APGA, wishing him full recovery soonest.

Earlier, Ebelechukwu Obiano, the wife of the Governor and founder Caring Family Enhancement Initiative, CAFE,  had visited Umeh and presented him a birthday cake as her birthday mate and prayed for his quick recovery.

Amongst the numerous visitors to Umeh were the Catholic Bishop of Nnewi ; Most. Rev. Paul Hilary Odili Okeke, the Catholic Bishop of Awka; Most Rev. Paulinus Chukwuemeka Ezeokafor and the Catholic Bishop of Ekwuluobia Diocese Most Rev Dr Peter Okpalaeke and the Auxiliary Bishop of Awka Diocese Most. Rev. Jonas Benson Okoye among others.

Umeh marked his birthday on October 7, and was widely celebrated by family, friends and associates across the world.
