IT WAS a day of joy and celebration for Chinwe Okafor and Nonso Nriagu, who tied the nuptial knot at a colourful event held in Nise, Anambra State, on Friday, January 3. The wedding, which attracted many dignitaries, took place at the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ara, Nise, while the traditional marriage took place at the Chukwunwike Okafor family home in Isiakpu, Nise.
Ebuka Ezeuzor, the officiating priest, urged the young couple to love and respect each other. He advised the couple not to dwell on the weaknesses or negatives of each other, but learn how to forgive themselves when a wrong is committed. He said the couple has a responsibility to ensure the success of the marriage.
The wedding was attended by the parents of the couple, relations, friends, colleagues and well-wishers from within and outside the country. Chinwe, a journalist, with Realnews magazine, who met her husband three years ago in Lagos, said since then she knew that God sanctioned the relationship. She thanked God for granting her wish to settle down with the love of her life. According to her, the journey started like a dream and I give God the gratitude that it has finally become a reality.
“I was overwhelmed with joy, happiness and fulfilled. God has been so good to me and I believe more blessings are still on the way. I appreciate God for giving me such a wonderful partner to spend the rest of my life with. I bless His name because it wasn’t by my power that the day was a success, so I thank God it came to pass,” she said.
