MD FAAN Elected ACI-Africa President

SALEH Dunuma, managing director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, has been elected president of Airports Council International, ACI, Africa region.

The election of Dunoma as ACI – Africa president, took place on October 18, during the 25th ACI-Africa annual assembly/regional conference and exhibition currently taking place in Maputo, Mozambique.

Dunoma has since taken the baton of the ACI-Africa leadership from Pascal Komla of Togo as the first Nigerian to preside over the 62-member body operating 250 airports in 47 countries in Africa.

ACI World is the ‘’VOICE OF AIRPORTS.’’ It is a global body that defends the interest of airports and fosters cooperation and exchange of ideas amongst its members. Its five geographical regions include — Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America-Caribbean and North America.

The new president of the ACI-Africa, Dunoma, has a pedigree of excellence. He is a recipient of the highly coveted National Productivity Order of Merit, NPOM, award by President Muhammadu Buhari, based on the recommendation of the National Productivity Centre of Nigeria.

Dunoma has had a distinguished career in the aviation sector which spans over a period of three decades. He joined the FAAN in 1980 as a fresh graduate of Engineering and rose through the ranks to head the authority.
