FEMI Adesina, president of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, and Garba Shehu, director, media and publicity of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council and have been appointed as spokesmen of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration. The two appointments were announced by the Presidency on Sunday, May 31, indicated that Adesina would be special adviser to the President on media and publicity, Shehu would operate as senior special assistant, media and publicity.

In a statement issued by Shehu, the president also approved the appointment of Lawal Kazaure, a foreign affairs service official as the State Chief of Protocol, SCOP.

Until his appointment, Adesina was also managing director and editor-in-chief of The Sun newspapers.

Shehu, one-time editor of Triumph newspaper, had served in a similar position when former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar was in office. He had also served the media as president of the NGE more than a decade ago.

The work schedules of both men were not spelt out in the statement on their appointments because their offices appear to be similar.
