THE Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, has presented an award of Excellence to Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra State.

The award, which was in recognition of his media-friendly disposition, was presented during the state Executive Council Meeting, at the Exco Chambers, Government House, Awka.

He said that the award would spur him to do more for the media.

The award was presented by the Director-General, FRCN, Mr. Mansur Liman, who was represented by Zonal Director, Enugu National Station, Ike Okere.

He noted that the award was part of the 13th Anniversary of Radio Nigeria’s, Purity FM Awka in 2018.

The director-general, who described Obiano as `Media-friendly Governor’, assured him of the station’s preparedness to project his achievements to the National network.

Liman pledged to ensure effective grassroots and balanced reportage of government activities.

He observed that the establishment of Radio Nigeria in Awka had helped to reduce unemployment in the area, appealing to the governor to refurbish the road leading to the station at Mgbakwu.

The event was graced by an Assistant Director, Programmes, Gregory Odiakosa, and the General Manager, Uche Chukwuedo.

Others are Head of News, Chris Obileri and Controller Programmes, Adaora Arah.
