THE Independent Media Support Organisation, IMSO, finalised arrangements to organise one day get-together for all journalists in Anambra State, ahead of Governor Willie Obiano inauguration. Obiano will be sworn-in for second tenure on March 17.

The event tagged: “Concerned Anambra Media Practitioners Summit, CAMP 2018’’, has a theme: “Role of Media in Sustaining Productive Governance’’.

The Summit has been scheduled to take place on March 14, at Cosmila Hotels, Conference Hall, Okpuno, Awka.

Harris Chuma, the national coordinator, IMSO, while briefing some newsmen said it would be a veritable opportunity to x-ray, highlight and evaluate various achievements of Obiano during his first term.

Chuma noted that the programme, which would attract dignitaries from across various walks of life, would set the agenda for the new dispensation.

Chuma, who restated the loyalty of the group to the present administration, stressed, that they would rally support to Obiano, in his second term.

According to him, Obiano has recorded noble performances in his first term.

“Some may not be satisfied with his achievement; this programme will analyse and critique his administration and proffer solutions where necessary.

“This is the time for good governance. We recall that Gov. Obiano in his first term, promised to provide good governance.

“Since then, he has been working to entrench good governance. Today, Anambra has recorded a paradigm shift in governance.

“Improving governance is one of the essential elements of realising the dream of a strong system in making greater impact.

“Good governance enables effective use of information, human resources, and finances to deliver better performances.

“Governance on the other hand, is process of decision-making and the process by which decisions are implemented (or not implemented),” Chuma explained.

While commending Obiano for his achievements, the National coordinator solicited for support to enable the governor to transform the state.

“There are various potential that have yet to be harnessed.  Agulu Resort Hotel has been achieved. We need to harness the Ogbunike Cave.

“It has economic and employment values to the state. This and other developments are in the blueprint of the present government,” he noted.
