Mohammed Elected NGE President

GARBA Deen Mohammad, a media consultant and columnist, has been elected as the president of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, NGE. Muhammad, who was acting as president following the appointment and resignation of Femi Adesina, who is the current special adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity, was elected at a special convention of the Guild at which the recommendations of the standing committee that the vacancy created by the appointment of Adesina be filled.
Consequently, Mohammad, erstwhile deputy president of the NGE, was elected substantive national president. To fill the position vacated by Mohammad, Steve Ayorinde, formerly vice-president (West), was elected deputy president while Funke Egbemode was elected vice-president (West).
