Mentally Challenged Woman’s Child in Ozoro: Iteire to the rescue

THE Executive Chairman, Isoko North Local Government Council, Christian Othuke Iteire on Monday, July 26, visited a mentally challenged homeless woman who delivered a male child on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at the Ozoro General Hospital in Ozoro, Delta State.

During the visit on Monday, July 26, 2021, the Isoko-North Council Chairman after giving out money for the immediate upkeep of the child, promised to take responsibility of the upbringing of the child, and the mother, which according to him, “the baby is a gift”.

Iteire, who was highly elated, named the child “Ogagaoghene Desmond”, prayed for wisdom, knowledge and understanding for the child in order for him to excel.

The statement by Ajirioghene Oreh, Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Council, said that the medical officers at the General Hospital, humanitarians, humanitarian bodies, including Christy Ichofu of Royal Gate Princess Foundation and the Achievers Foundation appreciated and commended the Isoko North Council Chairman for his prompt visit and assistance.

According to the statement, the two humanitarian foundations called on more public-spirited individuals to compliment the Isoko North Council Chairman’s effort in taking care of the baby.

The chairman also gave financial assistance to the women, who recently gave birth at the General Hospital, Ozoro.
