David Oyedepo, pastor and author, 59, September 27. Born in Osogbo, Osun State, but a native of Omu Aran, Kwara State, he was educated at Kwara State Polytechnic and Honolulu University, Hawaii, USA. He is the founding bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide aka Winners Chapel, and the presiding bishop of the Faith Tabernacle, Ota, Ogun State. He is also the chancellor of Covenant University, Ota, and Ladmark University, Omu-Aran, Kwara State.

Sunny Okongwu, economist, 79, September 23. Born in Enugu, he was educated at St. Michael’s School, Aba, 1941-1946; Government College, Umuahia, 1947-1951; Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha, 1951; Boston University, Massachussets,USA, 1965. He worked as a broadcaster with the defunct Nigeria Broadcasting Service and later joined the Daily Times as a sub-editor and features editor, West African Pilot. He also served as public relations officer of Mobil Oil Nigeria Limited. He was lecturer, University of Nigeria, Enugu campus, 1970-1972. He was chief planning officer of the defunct East central State and minister of National Planning, 1985-1986, and later minister of finance, 1986-1990

Felix Chukwu, company executive, and community leader, 51, September 27. A native of Amuzi, Ahiazu Mbaise local government area of Imo State, he was educated at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, 1981-1986; Lagos Business School, 2008. He was sales manager, Rapido Ventures Limited, 1992-1993 and managing director, McQuintus Limited. He holds the traditional title of Nwanne Di Namba of Lorji community, Aboh Mbaise LGA, Imo State.

Samuel Ekhator, administrator, consultant, permanent secretary, and former secretary, Edo State Local Government Service Commission, 68, September 18. He attended St. Stephen’s Anglican School, Odighi; Eghosa Anglican Grammar School, Benin-City, and University of Ibadan. He is presently the president of Eghosa Anglican Grammar School Old Boys’ Association and chairman/ chief executive, SIE Investment and Associate Limited, Benin-City.
