Bolaji Akinwande Akinyemi, administrator, university teacher, 73, January 4. Born in Ilesa, Osun State, he was educated at Igbobi College, Yaba, Lagos, 1955-1959; Christ School, Ado-Ekiti, 1960-1961; Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy; Tufs University, Massachusetts, USA, 1964-1966, and Trinity College, Oxford University, England, 1966-1969. He was appointed senior lecturer, University of Ibadan, 1970-1973; director-general, Nigerian Institute of International Afairs, NIIA, Lagos, 1975-1983; visiting professor, Graduate Institute of International Studies, Geneva, and Diplomacy Training Programme, University of Nairobi, Kenya, 1977. He was a lecturer at the University of California, Los Angeles, USA, 1979, and appointed minister of external affairs, 1985-1987. Akinyemi was a member of electoral reform panel appointed by late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

Oluyomi Ayodeji Adeyemi-Wilson, engineer, 69, January 4. Born in Lagos State, he was educated at Igbobi College, Yaba, Lagos, 1958-1962; Government College, Ibadan, 1963-1964; Washington University, USA, 1965-1968, and Ohio State University, 1968-1970. He was external affairs manager, Mobil Producing Nigeria; manager, environmental and loss prevention, Mobil Producing Nigeria. He is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, NIM, 1986, and fellow, Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE. Adeyemi-Wilson was also the former president, Athletics Federation of Nigeria, AFN.

Adetokunboh Fassy Yusuf, management consultant, 60, January 3. Born in Warri, Delta State, he was educated at Ijebu Muslim College, Ijebu-Ode, 1968-1972; Brunel University, UK, 1981-1983. Yusuf was appointed public relations assistant, Nigeria Police Force, NPF, 1973-1976; client service executive, Rod Publicity Nigeria Limited, 1976-1977; public relations manager and editor, Sporting World, 1977-1979; chief executive, Vascaust Communication Limited; Fayusuf Press, 1985-1994; chairman, Sketch Press Limited, 1994-1996; chairman, Ogun State Printing Corporation, 1994-1996; director, Tafawa Balewa Square Investment Limited, 1989-1998, and chairman, Ogun State Planning Committee, 1995.
