Bolaji Akinwande Akinyemi, administrator, university teacher, 77, January 4. Born in Ilesa, Osun State, he was educated at Igbobi College, Yaba, Lagos, 1955-1959; Christ School, Ado-Ekiti, 1960-1961; Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy; Tuffs University, Massachusetts, USA, 1964-1966, and Trinity College, Oxford University, England, 1966-1969. He was appointed senior lecturer, University of Ibadan, 1970-1973; director-general, Nigerian Institute of International Afairs, NIIA, Lagos, 1975-1983; visiting professor, Graduate Institute of International Studies, Geneva, and Diplomacy Training Programme, University of Nairobi, Kenya, 1977. He was a lecturer at the University of California, Los Angeles, USA, 1979, and appointed minister of external affairs, 1985-1987. Akinyemi was a member of electoral reform panel appointed by late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
