Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former governor, Lagos State, 65, March 29. Born in Lagos, he was educated at Government College, Ibadan, and Chicago State University, Chicago, United States of America. Tinubu worked in the United States with Arthur Anderson, Dolette Haskins and Sell; GTE Services Corporation, Consultants and Fortune 500 Group, USA. He was later appointed senior auditor, Treasury, Mobil Oil Nigeria Limited. Tinubu started his political career as a senator in 1991. He was elected governor of Lagos State in 1999 and re-elected in April 2003, on the platform of Alliance for Democracy, AD. He is the founder and leader of the defunct Action Congress, AC, Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, and currently the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
