Gabriel Torwua Suswam, lawyer, politician and former Governor of Benue State, 54, November 15. Born in Anyiin, Logo Local Government Area of Benue State, he attended University of Lagos, 1989 and Nigerian Law School, 1990. He worked for other law firms, 1990 – 1994, while continuing his studies. In 1994 he launched his own law firm. He was elected member House of Representatives, representing Katsina-Ala/Ukum/Logo Federal Constituency, under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in 1999. He was re-elected into the House in 2003. Suswam was elected governor of Benue State in 2007 and was re-elected in 2011.
