Lawal Pedro, lawyer, former solicitor-general of Lagos State and former permanent secretary, ministry of justice, Lagos State, 55, October 6. Born in Lagos Island, Lagos State, he was educated at Christ Church Cathedral Primary School, Broad Street, Lagos, 1966-1972; Anwar-UI-Islam College, Agege, Lagos, 1973-1979; Methodist Boys High School, Lagos, 1980-1981; Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, 1982-1985 and Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos, 1986. Pedro did his mandatory National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, with First Bank of Nigeria PLC, as legal officer in 1986; barrister and solicitor, Dele Akinmusuti and Co, 1987, and directorate of legal services, Lagos State ministry of justice, 1987. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, International Bar Association, IBA, and associate member, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He became Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN in 2008.
