Thomas Aeze Adaba, administrator, and former director-general, National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, 76, July 2. Born in Okene, Kogi State, he was educated at Christ the King Catholic School, Okene, Kogi State, 1947-1955; Ohio University, Athens, USA, 1969-1971; Indiana University, Bloomington, USA, 1978-1979; University of Jos, 1986-1989. Adaba became a teacher at Catholic School, Okene, 1961-1962; lecturer, Ahmadu Bello University, ABU, Zaria, 1969-1974. He was head of presentation and training, Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, Jos, 1974-1977; controller/manager programmes, 1977-1980; assistant director, programmes, NTA, 1989-1990; general manager, NTA, Makurdi, Benue State, 1990-1991. He was appointed director-general, NBC, 1992. Adaba was a recipient of John F Kennedy Graduate Programme Awards, 1991.
