Mohammed, Fayemi, Obi, Falana, Adesina, others for Global Patriot Newspapers Anniversary Lecture

LAI Mohammed, minister of Information and Culture, Kayode Fayemi, minister of Mines and Steel Development, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State, Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, and Femi Falana, SAN, a foremost pro-democracy and human rights legal luminary, are among the prominent personalities that are expected grace the Anniversary Lecture/Awards ceremony of Global Patriot Newspapers in Lagos on Thursday, November 23, 2017.

A statement released by Simon Ibe, publisher/editor-in-chief of the online newspaper, said that other leading figures billed for the event, which holds at 4Points By Sheraton Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos from 10 am are Ibrahim Magu, acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Akin Gunbiyi, group chairman of Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc, T.A. Orji, a former governor of Abia State, Femi Adesina, special adviser (Media & Publicity) to President Muhammadu Buhari and Yinka Odumakin, a chieftain of Afenifere, the Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Mr. Yinka Odumakin.

Equally expected at the event are Sanusi Daggash, a former minister of Works, former Spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP; Rufai Alkali, Ghadi Olaoye, a pastor based in the United States;  Ola Olukoyede, a pastor, and Gani Adams, Are-Ona Kakanfo-designate,  Otunba Gani Adams.

At the Lecture, to be chaired by Sam Ohuabunwa, a foremost pharmacist, the key issues of patriotism, the vast untapped potentials of Nigeria and the nagging question of national development will be vigorously x-rayed.

According to Ibe the programme is expected to bring to the front burner of national discourse, the connection between patriotism, which presently seems in short supply, and the need to tap the presently vastly untapped potentials of the country, including the human, solid minerals, agricultural, marine, ICT potentials, for the rapid development of the nation.

The theme of the Lecture is “Patriotism, Untapped Potentials and National Development,” and the event would also be used to honour some individuals and organisations.
