Nasarawa Assembly passes investment and development agency bill

THE Nasarawa State House of Assembly has passed a Bill to Establish the Nasarawa State Investment and Development Agency.

The bill will be charged with the responsibility of among other things, promoting, facilitating, and coordinating investment in the state and other related matters when assented to by Gov. Abdullahi Sule.

The Speaker of the house, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe-Abdullahi, announced the passage of the bill after Alhaji Tanko Tunga, the Majority leader of the assembly, moved a motion for the third reading of the bill which was seconded by Mr. Danladi Jatau, the Minority Leader, during the house proceedings in Lafia on Monday

Balarabe-Abdullahi said that the bill if assented to, would go a long way in promoting and coordinating investment in the state.

” A Bill for a Law to Establish the Nasarawa State Investment and Development Agency Charged with the Responsibility of Among Other Things to Promote, Facilitate and Coordinate Investment in the State and  Other Related Matters, third reading and passed.

“This bill if finally signed into law will also boost the state socio-economic activities, improve IGR and as well as improve on the standard of living of the people of the state, ”he said.

He directed the clerk of the house to produce a clean copy of the bill for the governor‘s assent.

The speaker assured Gov. Sule of the assembly’s readiness to continue to support his economic and investment policies for the overall development of the state.
