NBTE accredits Anambra Technical Colleges

NOT less than six Government Technical Colleges in Anambra State have been granted interim and full accreditation in various trades/courses run by the colleges.

This is in furtherance of Governor Willie Obiano’s desire to provide technical schools with education for life and employment.

The Natonal Board of Technical Education, NBTE, granted interim accreditation for different courses at St. John’s Science & Technical College, Alor (Electrical Installation and Maintenance Work), GTC Umueri (Catering Craft and Computer Craft Practice and GTC Umuchu (Painting and Decorating, Block Layering, Bricklaying and Concreting).

Others are GTC Umunze (Block laying and Concreting, Electrical Installation & Maintenance Work, Furniture Design and Construction)

Full accreditation was granted to Nigeria Science and Technical College, Nnewi (Vehicle Body Building, Catering Craft Practice) and GTC, Onitsha (Block laying, bricklaying & concreting.

The rest are Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Fabrication and Welding, Mechanical Engineering Craft Practice, Electrical Installation and Maintenance Works, Furniture Design and Construction, Radio, Television and Electronic Works.

The NBTE, established to regulate technical vocational education and training below university level, gives approval to accreditation to courses in technical college.

This would be the third time NBTE would be visiting Anambra State to accredit the Trades/Courses run in 12 Technical Colleges spread across the three senatorial districts in the state.
