THE Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), has called on state governments to be prompt in releasing intending pilgrims to enable the commission to carry out proper screening for this year’s pilgrimage to Israel, Greece and Rome.

The Executive Secretary, NCPC, Rev. Yakubu Pam, made the call while inspecting facilities at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja.

He said that the measure would also enable the commission to take necessary precautions to check abscondment in the Holylands.

While commending the support received from the management of the airport in the previous exercise, Pam said the commission would abide by the laid down rules as well as the COVID-19 protocols for the success of the exercise.

The NCPC boss assured Nigerians that the commission would ensure that only Christaians yearning for spiritual uplift would be allowed to participate in the pilgrimage.

The Regional manager of the Nnamid Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, Mr Mohammed Sanni, stressed that the management would not allow any intending pilgrim without evidence of COVID-19 test to participate in the exercise.

Mr Sanni reiterated his management’s readinness to provide required support to NCPC and respect the rights of all intending pilgrims.
