THE National Economic Council (NEC) has recommended that the Federal Government and National Assembly continue to support the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) and the Territory Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).

Gov. Umara Zulum of Borno State made this announcement while addressing journalists after the 145th NEC meeting on Thursday in Abuja.

The council commended the students’ loan board for its efforts in supporting underprivileged students.

During the meeting, the council discussed various issues affecting Nigerians’ social and economic well-being.

They acknowledged TETFUND’s positive contributions to education growth and development, as well as NASENI’s mandate to promote local goods and services production, reducing Nigeria’s reliance on hydrocarbons.

“The federal government of Nigeria and indeed the National Assembly, are encouraged and advise to sustain these two agencies for the betterment of Nigerians.” (NAN)
