New Speaker emerges in Bayelsa
Politics
ABRAHAM Ngobere, deputy speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, has been sworn in as the new speaker of the Assembly.
The new speaker was crowned after Monday Bubou-Obolo, speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, stepped down to pave way for Abraham.
The new speaker emerged to ensure a balance of power and fair representation in Bayelsa because the Governor Douye Diri is from the same Senatorial District (Bayelsa Central Senatorial District) as the former speaker, Bubou-Obolo.
