Newly engaged Agro N-Power youths urged to be focussed

Afam Mbanefo, commissioner for Agriculture Mechanisation, Processing and Export, has urged newly employed batch B Agro N-Power youths to put in their best toward development of agriculture in the state.

“I want you to be proactive and contribute your quota at your places of assignment according to the rules and ethics of civil service to help to boost the state’s agriculture status.

“Be effective, and never leave where you are posted until after two years,’’ Mbanefo said.

The commissioner was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Dr Amenike Ezinnado.

Addressing the youths at the Anambra State Agriculture Development Programme, ADP, Hall, Awka, the commissioner assured them that they would be preoccupied with many entrepreneurial skills within the ministry.

Jude Nwankwo, programme manager ADP, urged the youths to be focused and committed so that they would learn skills that would sustain them in life.

“You are lucky to be in this ministry because of the importance that our agric-friendly Governor, Willie Obiano attached to agriculture, which has been unprecedented.

“It’s on record that Anambra ranks among the top rated states in agriculture in the country,’’ Nwankwo said.

Obioma Mbanefo, the special adviser to the governor on Inputs and Extension, enjoined the youths to utilise opportunities extended to them to better their lives.

“I encourage you to form cooperative groups on the various agriculture commodities and register in the Agric data centre to  receive assistance as gesture from agriculture, which has remained the bed rock of the economy,’’ Mbanefo said

Others at the occasion include Ify Uzoka, director extension; Ogechukwu Nwasike, chief admin, and Lawrence Onuorah, director Rural Institutes’ Development.
