This is contained in a statement by the president’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, on Wednesday in Abuja.

The president described the late Rear Adm., who served as a military governor  of old Ondo state (now Ondo and Ekiti) from 1990 and 1992 “as a brilliant officer who distinguished himself in his career in the military and performed creditably in Ondo.’’

President Buhari noted that even after retirement from the military, the late  Olukoya, in his desire for a better society, continued to offer his services to his community as a private citizen.

The president prayed Almighty God to grant the deceased,  eternal rest and comfort his family, friends and associates as they mourned  him.
