COVID-19: NCDC records 175 new cases

 NIGERIA Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says the country recorded 175 new
cases of COVID-19 across the country in the last 24 hours.

It made this known on its official website on Wednesday morning, adding that the fatality figure remained at 2,756.

It noted that the 175 new cases was a decrease from the 284 cases reported on Tuesday.

It, however, added that the new figure increased the country’s infection toll to 208,153, while 195,936 people were treated and discharged across the country.

It stated that “till date, 208,153 cases have been confirmed, 195,936 cases have been discharged and 2,756 deaths recorded in 36 states of the federation and the FCT.”

The 175 new cases were reported from 10 states of the federation and the FCT, namely: FCT (73), Lagos (34), Rivers (15), Gombe (13), Kano (10), Plateau (8), Katsina (6), Bauchi (5), Delta (5), Benue (4), and Nasarawa (2).

The NCDC said 3,043,321 million samples were tested, noting that a multi-sectorial national emergency operation centre (EOC), activated at Level 2, continued to coordinate national response activities. (NAN)
