THE All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Campaign directorate has asked Senator Andy Ubah, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to stop maligning Ebelechukwu Obiano, wife of Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State.

APGA stated this in a statement by Emeka Ozumba, deputy director, Campaign Directorate, and made available to Realnews on October 21.

According to Ozumba, "When our attention was drawn to the statement credited to Sen Andy Ubah that " Mrs. Obiano will soon join APC," we knew straight away that he was merely courting attention by dropping the name of the wife of Governor of Anambra State, Dr Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano(Osodieme) - a performer in her own sphere and a philanthropist par excellence. After all, she is not on the ballot in the forthcoming elections."

Reacting to the claims credited to Senator Ubah that the First Lady will soon join the APC, Ozumba, who wondered about the fixation with Mrs Obiano joining the APC, asked whether it was a campaign slogan of Mr Uba.

"Why would anyone contemplate abandoning a popular and performing party like the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA) to join a struggling APC without a presence in Anambra? That must be an expensive joke," he said.

Ozumba observed the difficulty Ubah is facing in convincing few people who swarm around his campaign office for their own windfall what he will do differently in Anambra. He pitied him because his skewed politics rather than help his cause is repelling people and sending back them to where they came.

"Isn't it curious that a man who could not attract one kilometer of road to his village whilst he held sway as a trusted aide to President Obasanjo for eight years is talking about rebuilding Anambra. We still remember the abracadabra he orchestrated to shore up his electoral chances by bringing the then President in 2017 to flag off the construction of a second Niger Bridge without evidence of architectural drawing, contract award or financing for the project".

It is shameful for Andy to claim credit over the building of the Second Niger Bridge project which he could not convince his master to do anything on in much the same way he could do nothing on Uga- Ekwulobia road. Just because he is now in APC the project commenced by the Goodluck  Jonathan government and being completed by the present regime has become the effort of Mr. Uba.

"Can someone advise Andy that Anambra electorate are discerning enough to differentiate between pretenders and serious candidates. That they know who he is and would expect him, baring pride, to vote for Professor Soludo as the primus inter pares of all the contestants".
