ECOWAS Speaker receives Achievers’ Award for promoting Africa’s agenda

SIDIE Tunis, Speaker of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Parliament, has been nominated as distinguished recipient for the African Achievers Award for his outstanding role in promoting Africa’s common agenda.

The Communications Department of the ECOWAS Parliament disclosed this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja.

According to the Department, Tunis will be receiving the honour during the 2021 African Achievers Awards ceremony scheduled to hold at the Kensington Palace, England on Dec. 10.

“The Right Honorable Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, Dr. Sidie Mohamed Tunis, has been nominated as the distinguished recipient of the 11th Edition of the African Achievers Award, under the Global Impact Category.

“The 2021 African Achievers Awards ceremony is scheduled to hold at the Kensington Palace, England on Dec.10.

“And, will be preceded by an International Summit on Dec. 9, under the theme “Initiating Diaspora Investment for a diversified African Economy,” it stated

It stated that Tunis was receiving the award as a result of his selfless service to nation building and his outstanding innovative strive towards the promotion of the African Common Agenda.

The African Achievers Award is one of Africa’s most prestigious awarding bodies which honours great African Achievers.

The award seeks to award African Leaders, Young Achievers, Community Builders and Institutions whose works have had a meaningful impact on building the African dream.
