Volleyball Premier League: Nigerian Army girls whip Kada Emeralds

NIGERIAN Army Female Volleyball Club on Wednesday in Abuja defeated the Kada Emeralds of Kaduna 3-0 in the female competition of the Final Eight tournament of the Nigerian Volleyball Premier League.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Nigerian Army side were dominant on the way to winning 25-21 25-11 25-16 in the game played at the National Stadium.
Nigerian Army had lost their first game 0-3 on Sunday, but they defeated Benue Queens of Makurdi 3-0 in their second game on Tuesday.
Speaking after Wednesday’s game, the Nigerian Army coach, Elam Elishama, appreciated his players’ performance, saying they did really well.
“It’s a game we must win. After losing our first match, I had to speak with the players against today’s match, and I have to congratulate my players.
“We have started discussing about the next match and we are hoping to do better so that we can go back home with the trophy,” he said.
On his part, Sulaiman Hassan, the coach of Kada Emeralds, said he was disappointed that his team could not win their fourth game.
“We will go back and work harder towards achieving success in our next match.
“I need to teach my players more tactics of the game. We have to work together as a team because we have a target,” he said.
NAN reports that seven clubs are participating in the female competition of the league, comprising the NCS, Nigerian Army, Delta Force, NSCDC, Nigerian Immigration, Benue Queens and Kaduna Kada Emeralds.
The final eight round of the Nigerian volleyball premier league which is holding at the Package B of the Abuja National Stadium began on Sunday and will end on Saturday.
