Court remands teenager for unlawfully being in possession of firearms

An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, on Monday, ordered that Smith Obi,  19, be remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly being in possession of firearms. The police charged Obi, whose residential address was not provided, with unlawful possession of fir Chief Magistrate O. A. Layinka, who did not take the plea of Obi, ordered the prosecution to send the case file to the Lagos State Department of Public Prosecution, (DPP) for legal advice. Layinka adjourned the case until Dec. 21 for a hearing. Earlier, the police prosecutor, ASP Ezekiel Ayorinde alleged that Obi was arrested with one brownie pistol with one live ammunition.
