CHRISTOPHER Danjuma, coach of Nigerian Super Falcons, has invited 35 players, including Asisat Oshoala, Liverpool Ladies star player, for camping in the team’s preparation to host Equatorial Guinea in the 2016 Olympic qualifiers match scheduled for July 18.

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, said on its website that the players would be expected to report for camping on Wednesday, July 8, ahead of their departure to Port Harcourt for the first leg fixture.

The return leg of the encounter will take place in Bata, Equatorial Guinea two weeks after.

Danjuma, who was coach Edwin Okon’s assistant until Monday, June 29, recalled Faith Ikidi, goalkeepers Tochukwu Oluehi, Sandra Chiichii, Joy Jegede, Amarachi Okoronkwo, Osarenoma Igbinovia and Sarah Michael.

Others on the list include goalkeepers Precious Dede, Ibubeleye Whyte; defenders Onome Ebi, Osinachi Ohale, Ngozi Ebere and Evelyn Nwabuoku, Blessing Edoho and Josephine Chukwunonye; midfielders Halimat Ayinde, Onyinyechi Ohadugha, Ngozi Okobi and Cecilia Nku, and forwards Oshoala, Francisca Ordega, Esther Sunday, Desire Oparanozie and Loveth Ayila, who made up the FIFA Women’s World Cup squad.

The Falcons expect a tough contest as Equatorial Guinea are the only other team, apart from Nigeria, to have triumphed at the African Women’s Championship since 1998. They have won the trophy twice, while Nigeria have won it seven times.
