Obi of Onitsha visits centre for long vacation tutorial

Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, the Onitsha Monarch visited the centre, where Long Vacation Tutorial, LVT, was being held at Onitsha.

The centre is organised by the National Association of Onitsha Ado Students, NAOAS.

The vacation tutorial, which was being conducted at the Eze Chima Primary School, Onitsha was organised by the Onitsha Students Union, OSUA.

Patrick Agha Mba, the chairman, Onitsha North Local Government Area, commended the royal father for supporting the programme as well as his commitment toward development of human resources.

He said that he had the approval of Igwe Achebe to establish an Information and Communication Technology, ICT, Centre at Ime Obi.

“The ICT has graduated its first batch of students, while the second batch will be rounding off this week,’’ Agha Mba said.

He noted that two graduates of the ICT programme had since secured appointments with the presidency.

The monarch said he appreciated the outstanding role of chairman in the LGA within a year in office.

Igwe Achebe urged parents to allow their children to participate in the tutorial which hold annually.

“It’s a free tutorial programme sponsored by the Obi for all residents and people of Onitsha, which will keep children busy during long vacation,’’ he said.
