THE National President of Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, has revealed that the so-called Elders Council meeting of Ohanaeze Ndigbo led by Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu on 19th November 2020 in Owerri was a plot to seal the candidate of the caliphate for the next President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

Addressing newsmen in Owerri over the weekend, Igboayaka described the meeting as illegal and unconstitutional, stressing that the so-called Elders Council, which has not met since 2014, can’t converge now under the pretense of screening or harmonizing candidates from Imo State, while they are merely acting on the directive of Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, President Buhari’s Chief of Staff, who is plotting to install Prof. George Obiozor to replace Nnia Nwodo.

Igboayaka revealed that the so-called Prof. Obiozor has never featured in Ohanaeze Ndigbo’s meeting or participated in any affairs of Ohanaeze, noting that Nnia Nwodo’s appointment of Iwuanyanwu as chairman Elders Council in Imo state is unknown to Ime-Obi, the highest decision making organ of the body.

The kangaroo screening and meeting that was done or called by Iwuanyanwu in which they adopted Prof. Obiozor lacked constitutional backing, as the Constitution of Ohanaeze Ndigbo only empowers the secretary in conjunction with the president to summon a meeting at all levels.

A statement by Chukwuemeka Chimerue, special assistant on Media and Publicity to the National President, Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, said that the Elders Council was a mere committee of the caliphate and choreograph plan to stop Joe Nworgu, Prof. Chidi Osuagwu, and Goddy Uwazuruike’s candidature, to pave a smooth way for Prof. George Obiozor.

Igboayaka noted that in their quest to satisfy their caliphate master they have bridged and/or violated the Ohanaeze Ndigbo constitution, which states that at least a minimum of three candidates must stand to vie for the office of the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

The choice to force Prof. George Obiozor on Ndigbo does not meet the existing electoral provision of the body. The influence of the Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari in the shenanigans constituted Elders Council summarizes the skepticism that Ohanaeze Ndigbo will be a sub-branch of the caliphate, Igboayaka stated.

He, therefore, urged Igbo businessmen and women, organizations both in diaspora and at home to rise now and adopt their own Ohanaeze Ndigbo President-General candidate or remain cowards and die socio-culturally and political slaves to the caliphate.

It is disgraceful that Nnia Nwodo in conjunction with the Southeast governors has bridged every constitutional cum democratic process of Ohanaeze Ndigbo election and such planned electoral fraud will not materialize under the watch of Ohanaeze Youth Council as over 30 million Igbo youths who have an interest in Ohanaeze Ndigbo that will determine the present and future of the youths in Igbo land.

The Ohanaeze Youth Council President, therefore, warned the governors and Nnia Nwodo to quickly withdraw every plan to sell Ohanaeze Ndigbo to the caliphate and allow a purely democratic process or be ready to contend with the force of angry Igbo youths in Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC.
