THE National President, Ohaneze Youths Wing, Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu, has called on President Muhammad Buhari to call for dialogue as a veritable measure to restore peace in the nation.

Okpalaezeukwu made the call while reacting to a recent address by the president in which he alluded to his designed way to tackle agitations.

He stressed that “every youth has a right to protest or engage in agitation as a way of expressing their rights.

“But it is for the government or whichever institution that is concerned to listen to their prayers.

“The president should extensively use psychology and standard communication techniques in responding to the agitators.

“As youths, meting out violence on them cannot be the solution, but fair hearing and proper dialogue can restore peace that we have been enjoying in the nation.

“We condemn in strong terms all acts of violence among the youths and sue for peace and peaceful co-existence.

“We therefore, urge all aggrieved parties to sheath their swords and give chance for dialogue.

“Government cannot continue to turn deaf ears to the voices of the oppressed; we do not have to remain mute in the face of injustice.

“I want to reaffirm our resolve and commitment to peace, stability and development in the South East, Igbo Land and Africa in general,’’ Okpalaezeukwu said.
