Olu Agunloye, physicist, lecturer, 68, September 16. Born in Erusu-Akoko, Ondo State, he was educated at Ondo Boy’s High School, Ondo, 1961-1965; University of Ibadan, 1966-1974; Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. He was appointed lecturer, Department of Physics, University of Ibadan, 1974-1981; executive director, Petramin Nigeria Limited, 1981-1988; managing director, Faagol Instruments Limited, Ibadan, 1981-1988; corps marshal and chief executive, Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, 1988-1995 and personal assistant to minister of power and steel, 1999-2000; former vice-chairman, African Sub-Group; Internal Road Safety Organisation, Belgium; member, Geophysical Association of Nigeria; member, Nigeria Institute of Physics; member, American Geophysical Union; member, European Association of Exploration Geophysics and member Society for Exploration Geophysicists. He later became minister of state for defence.
