The traditional ruler said that “children are the heritage of God.’”

Oba Ogunwusi emphasised that children are the future of the community and the hope of the nation.

According to him, they are the mirror, light and future leaders that we all need to honour and value.

Also, Queen Temitope Ogunwusi, the Deputy Convener of the programme, urged the children to grow with the fear of God for them to get to their promised land.

“The way to achieve success in life is to listen to your parents, elderly ones, your teachers, and know the way of the Lord.

“Children should not depart from the way of the Lord throughout their days on the land of living,” she stated.

She acknowledged parents for their care for the children, stressing the need for adequate protection and support for them at all times.

Similarly, the Wife of Osun Deputy Governor, Mrs Olusola Adewusi, lauded Ooni and the Queen for their kind gesture towards the children and indigenes of Ile-Ife at large.

Adewusi urged the children to be good ambassadors of their families and always see themselves as the leaders of tomorrow.

“You need to work in the way of the Lord, obey your parents, face your studies, be focused on your future aspiration and work towards achieving it,” she advised.
