PARE inaugurates peace network in Plateau
General News
THE Pastoral Resolve (PARE), on the platform of Community Initiatives to Promote Peace (CIPP), has inaugurated the Plateau State Peace Network aimed at strengthening peace process in the state.
CIPP Project Manager Muhammad Sanusi announced this on Thursday in Jos.
He said that the PARE would engage various communities in the state to discuss the activities of interest groups and their impacts on peace process and harmony.
According to him, PARE will determine the mode of eligibility criteria for the network membership, leadership tenure and the network’s operationalisation.
Sanusi explained further that community members would also discuss electioneering process and its effects on the public, especially before, during and after the 2023 general elections.
He also noted that PARE would dwell more on discussion among the participants on the strategies to ensure peaceful elections.
PARE is a non-governmental, non-profit making, non-ethnic and non-political organisation incorporated in April 1999 in Nigeria.
The organisation works in all parts of the country, particularly in those areas with higher levels of pastoralists concentration.(NAN)
